Community Impact Project
Through our Community Impact Projects, we create real, measurable change where it matters most — empowering young people to lead local solutions, uplift their communities, and build a more sustainable future for all.
Our Community Impact projects Include:
1.Annual Fellowships in civic advocacy and public leadership
The YAGYDI Annual Fellowship in Civic Advocacy and Public Leadership is a one-year leadership and capacity-building program designed to equip young Nigerians with the knowledge, skills, and networks to lead social change. The fellowship focuses on civic participation, governance, policy advocacy, and community development, empowering participants to design and implement local solutions aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Through mentorship, workshops, and field projects, fellows gain hands-on experience in leadership and advocacy. The program builds a new generation of active citizens—young people who understand their power, use their voice effectively, and create measurable impact in their communities.
You can get involved in the YAGYDI Annual Fellowship in Civic Advocacy and Public Leadership in several meaningful ways:
1. As Mentors and Trainers
Professionals, academics, and development experts can volunteer to mentor fellows, deliver workshops, or provide training in leadership, policy, communication, and community engagement.
2. As Institutional Partners
Organizations can collaborate with YAGYDI by hosting fellows, supporting field projects, or co-designing advocacy campaigns that align with the SDGs.
3. As Sponsors and Donors
Corporations, NGOs, and philanthropists can fund fellowship activities—covering project grants, training sessions, and the annual summit—to help scale youth impact.
4. As Volunteers and Alumni Supporters
Individuals can assist with logistics, outreach, and documentation during fellowship events or mentor alumni-led community projects.
5. As Advocates
Everyone can support the vision by promoting the fellowship, amplifying fellows’ work, and connecting YAGYDI with new networks, institutions, and global partners.
Together, these contributions strengthen civic leadership, expand opportunities for youth, and drive sustainable development in communities across Nigeria
2. Project Leader
Project-LEADER (Leadership, Education, Advocacy, Development, Empowerment, and Responsibility) is one of YAGYDI’s flagship initiatives designed to build capable, ethical, and community-driven young leaders. The project provides hands-on training, mentorship, and civic engagement opportunities for students and early-career professionals who want to lead change in their communities. Through workshops, mentorship, and service-learning projects, participants learn practical leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving skills while addressing real issues linked to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Project-LEADER is more than a program; it’s a movement to raise responsible, action-oriented young leaders who understand service, empathy, and accountability as tools for nation-building.
Ways to get involved in Project-LEADER:
1.Become a Volunteer
Join YAGYDI’s volunteer network to help organize training sessions, community projects, and outreach activities that promote leadership and social responsibility.
2.Serve as a Mentor
Experienced professionals, educators, and community leaders can guide participants through mentorship, helping them refine their goals and project ideas.
3.Partner with YAGYDI
Schools, NGOs, and private organizations can collaborate by hosting workshops, providing venues, or co-funding local leadership projects.
4.Sponsor a Participant or Project
Individuals and institutions can offer financial or material support to enable more youth to access training, materials, and project funding.
5.Join the Leadership Network
Become part of YAGYDI’s growing alums and advocacy community—where participants share ideas, collaborate on SDG-focused initiatives, and inspire others to lead with purpose.
3. SDG Ambassadors Fellowship
The SDG Ambassadors Fellowship is a leadership and advocacy program of YAGYDI designed to empower young changemakers who are passionate about advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in their communities. The fellowship trains selected participants—known as SDG Ambassadors—to deeply understand the goals, identify local challenges, and design actionable solutions in health, education, gender equality, climate action, and economic growth.
Through workshops, mentorship, and field projects, fellows learn how to lead campaigns, mobilize peers, and engage government and civil society in meaningful dialogue. Each ambassador commits to running at least one community project that addresses a specific SDG priority.
The fellowship builds a network of young advocates who collaborate across sectors, share knowledge, and inspire civic responsibility. Participants gain leadership experience, visibility, and access to professional networks that help them scale their initiatives and create measurable community impact.

4. Leadership boot camps and values-based seminars
The Leadership Boot Camps and Values-Based Seminars are intensive learning and personal development programs organized by YAGYDI to build character-driven, socially conscious, and competent young leaders.
These sessions focus on practical leadership, ethics, emotional intelligence, teamwork, and decision-making. Each boot camp combines hands-on workshops, role-playing, and mentorship sessions that help participants discover their strengths and learn how to lead with integrity and empathy.
The values-based seminars emphasize honesty, responsibility, service, and respect — principles that shape effective leadership in public, private, and community spaces. Participants engage with experienced facilitators, mentors, and civic leaders who share real-world lessons about leadership in action.
Together, these programs aim to raise a generation of youth who understand that leadership is not about position or status, but about character, service, and positive influence.
Anyone can get involved by registering as a participant, volunteering as a facilitator, or partnering with YAGYDI to host or sponsor future boot camps.
5. Talks, town halls, and public speaking events
Talks, Town Halls, and Public Speaking Events are core parts of YAGYDI’s civic engagement and advocacy programs. They serve as open platforms where young people, professionals, and community leaders come together to discuss social issues, share experiences, and promote civic responsibility.
These gatherings encourage dialogue on topics such as youth leadership, education, health, gender equality, entrepreneurship, and good governance—all linked to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
- Talks feature inspiring speakers who share practical insights on leadership, service, and personal growth.
- Town Halls create space for community members and policymakers to engage in open conversation about local challenges and solutions.
Public Speaking Events help young people build confidence, critical thinking, and communication skills while amplifying their voices on issues that matter.
Through these platforms, YAGYDI promotes active citizenship, accountability, and youth participation in public life. Individuals can get involved by attending events, volunteering as moderators or organizers, partnering to host sessions, or sharing expertise as guest speakers.
6. Youth concerts and social mixers that foster community, creativity, and collaboration
Youth Concerts and Social Mixers are YAGYDI’s creative platforms for connecting young people through music, art, and shared experiences that inspire social impact. These events blend entertainment with purpose, using creativity as a tool to build community, foster collaboration, and promote positive values among youth.
The Youth Concerts feature performances, spoken-word sessions, and short advocacy talks focused on key themes like leadership, health awareness, and the SDGs. They create a relaxed, engaging space where young people can learn, express themselves, and celebrate one another’s talents.
The Social Mixers bring together students, volunteers, entrepreneurs, and professionals to network, exchange ideas, and form collaborations for community projects. They’re designed to break barriers—encouraging cross-sector partnerships and friendships that often grow into lasting initiatives.
People can get involved by attending events, performing, volunteering as planners or hosts, sponsoring creative segments, or partnering with YAGYDI to co-organize youth-centered cultural gatherings.
7. SDG Research & Local Action
We engage youth researchers to collect and use local data on education access, public health, and disaster risk—driving better programs and stronger advocacy
8. Strategic Partnerships & Global Networks (SDG 17)
We build strategic alliances with schools, startups, CSOs, and media. From Nigeria to the diaspora, we amplify youth voices and co-create impact through partnerships.
